26 Oct Will 2018 be a better real estate year for Austin than Dallas?
Seattle and Austin have zoomed to the head of the class of the country’s hottest real estate markets for next year.
They’ve stolen some thunder from Dallas-Fort Worth which for two years in a row has dropped in the rankings of top property investment and development markets by PriceWaterhouseCoopers and the Urban Land Institute.
D/FW was in first place in 2015 and ranked second in the country in 2016.
D/FW slid down to fifth place in the latest Emerging Trends in Real Estate beauty contest, which polls real estate professionals from across the country to identify the best places to buy property and build.
The predictions in the annual Emerging Trends in Real Estate report have been long considered a road map to the best real estate markets in the country.
Austin ranked first in the poll last year just ahead of D/FW.
That was even before the Texas capitol was highlighted as the potential top pick for Amazon’s huge new second headquarters.
